Haji Basim

 

Haji Basim, an award-winning, passionate artist, performs music that is a unique blend of Folk, Devotional, and World music.  Basim is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, who has mastered guitar, banjo, ukulele and sitar.  He is also a singer-songwriter, and has created a new diverse and spiritually upbeat genre called Urban Folk.

This free program will be held in the Dublin Library Community Room, and is suitable for teens and adults.  This program will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017, from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.

April is Jazz Appreciation Month.  The Dave Rocha Jazz Trio will be performing some ‘straight-ahead’ jazz music for this program in the Dublin Library Program Room on Saturday, April 15, 2017, from 2:00 – 3:30 pm.  The Trio has some great compositions lined up for this event.  Bring the whole family,  to listen to America’s original art form. Dave Rocha hopes to see

Dave Rocha has performed with his jazz group for more than 20 years in a number of major cities, including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.  His band plays an eclectic mix of jazz standards, pop tunes and original compositions.  Audio samples of his works can be heard here.

Dave Rocha will be playing the trumpet and flugelhorn, Brad Buethe will be playing the electric guitar and Chuck Bennett will be playing the upright bass.  The Trio will be playing some great selections, including compositions by Sonny Rollins, Chick Corea, Benny Golson, Richie Beirach and many more.

These programs will be presented by the Tri-Valley One-Stop Career Center in partnership with the Dublin Library.

Explore how to create digital photographs that capture the essence of your subject!  Learn how to use natural light, creative backgrounds, and interesting locations for your photos.  This class is for adult students.

The instructor, Gerry Mooney, is a professional photographer who taught at Ohlone College for 25 years.
