LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking service, founded in December 2002 and launched on May 5, 2003. It is mainly used for professional networking. At the end of 2014, LinkedIn had more than 300 million members across the globe.

Shawnelle Goalder, Job Developer with Alameda County Social Services, Workforce and Benefits Administration will talk about using LinkedIn to best advantage in finding a new job. She will cover the basics of creating a good profile, adding connections, and navigating LinkedIn to search for jobs and research potential employers.

This free workshop will be held in the Dublin Library Program Room on Thursday, January 29, 2015, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.

If you recently bought or received a digital camera and want to go beyond point-and-shoot photography, you’ll want to attend an “Introduction to Digital Photography,” a free class that will be given this coming Saturday, January 24, 2015, beginning at 2:00 p.m. and lasting to about 4:00 p.m., in the Dublin Library Program Room.

The instructor, Gerry Mooney, is a professional photographer who taught at Ohlone College for 25 years. In this class you will learn basic digital camera operations, custom settings, and editing and storing digital pictures.

Be sure to bring your own digital camera and instruction manual for hands-on practice. There will be a maximum of 36 students for this class. Registration is required. Sign up at the Information Desk or call (925) 803-7252.

The Internal Revenue Service NO longer mails out paper tax forms and/or instructions.  For more information, please use their website : www.irs.gov   to access federal tax forms and/or instruction materials.




Taxpayers are welcome to come to any Alameda County Library branch to use our public computers to print forms and instructions.  THERE IS A CHARGE FOR PRINTING.  Taxpayers without internet access may still call the IRS and have individual forms mailed out to them.  The number to call is 1-800-829-3676.
