One of the several language learning series available to Alameda County Library members is the Pimsleur Language series, developed according to the findings of Dr. Paul Pimsleur (1928-1976), who taught French phonetics and phonemics at UCLA . After leaving UCLA, Dr. Pimsleur went on to faculty positions at Ohio State and SUNY at Albany, where he held dual professorships in Education and French. 

Many of the Pimsleur Language series, including English as a Second Language, are now available on OneClick Audiobooks database.
