In their book, The Green Festival Reader:  Fresh Ideas from Agents of Change, editors Kevin Danaher and Alisa Gravitz state that “the human race is now at a fork in the road.  We can either continue destroying the environment, denying people their human rights, allowing social and economic injustice, fueling the inequality between the haves and have-nots, and threatening the very existence of our species – or we can create a green economy that meets human needs while not destroying other species.”

Dublin Library is excited to present The Green Economy:  Challenges and Opportunities, in the Program Room at Dublin Library, on Saturday, December 13th, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m.

The speaker, Dr. Kevin Danaher, is one of the Executive Producers of the Green Festival and author of several books, including Building the Green Economy and The Green Festival Reader

He will discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by the current economic crisis and the rapid rise of a green economy.

He will entertain a question-and-answer session after his talk, and will be selling copies of his books at a discount.

This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Dublin Library.  More information can be obtained by calling 925-828-1315.
